A SOLID FOUNDATION FOR A RESIDENTIAL ELEVATOR ADDITION
This project required the demolition of an existing chimney foundation before new construction could begin. Once the site was cleared, we completed the excavation, subgrade preparation, formwork, reinforcement, and concrete placement according to the project specifications for the new residential elevator addition.
THE CHALLENGE
REMOVING THE OLD FOUNDATION TO MAKE WAY FOR THE NEW
Before the new foundation could be built, the existing chimney foundation had to be demolished and removed. Because the original footing was substantially thicker than typical flatwork, careful demolition and excavation were required to clear and prepare the area for the new foundation.
